Kaywon University of Art&Design-Visual Communication Design
Five-Part Composition and Information | September 2022 | Haneul Yu, Yonggi Jeong
We redesigned the website for the Kaywon University of Art&Design-Visual Communication Design
The website is built on a five-column structure and developed using the ‘Tistory’ platform for easier maintenance. The main page was designed to provide information at a glance while carefully preserving the essence of the content. Solid and dotted lines are used to separate information in a way that is simple yet clear.
To support a wide range of characters, we selected a typeface with an extensive glyph set. Throughout the planning, design, and maintenance process, we were able to create a website that is both highly accessible and easy to manage. The flexible five-column system can be adapted across various pages, allowing future contributors to add new pages while maintaining a consistent identity and user experience.
As the site serves as a platform for showcasing diverse works, the design was carefully developed to foreground the projects themselves. Color was minimized so that the website could be shaped by the visual language of the works it presents. At the same time, the underlying system was firmly established to preserve a unified identity and experience regardless of the content displayed.
