Hello. My name is Yonggi Jeong, and I created and run versync. I work as both a designer and a developer, but I’m a generalist who enjoys being curious about and experimenting with a wide range of things.
versync may look like a portfolio, but in reality it’s a blog, a link tree, a business card, and a single RSS feed block all at once. However, I didn’t originally intend for it to have such a fluid structure. At first, my goal was to create a conventional portfolio website with a layout optimized for print.
As I continued planning the website, I began to feel strongly that it didn’t truly belong to me. Having lived a somewhat inauthentic life for quite a long time, the most important thing to me now is to avoid anything that feels false or hollow.
So I archived all the previous plans and started over from scratch. I began by asking myself what truly matters to me. I organized the fields I work in and the words that could represent me.
The words I arrived at were queer, fluid, and versatile. Based on these, I refined the naming and developed a simple branding. Once the basic framework was in place, I realized that this website could go beyond being just a portfolio and take on many different roles—much like myself.
That’s why I wanted versync to feel like a mix of many things, yet still come across as approachable and strong.
A website that may feel a bit mixed, but has a clear center.
After about four months of development, versync was completed in this way.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
